SUNDAYS THRU MARCH 28: Free movies will be shown at 1 p.m. each Sunday through March 28 at the Maritime Center. The movies are episodes from Sea Patrol, a #1 series in Australia about the HMAS Hammersley with Capt. Mike Flynn and his crew of 24. Upcoming episodes: March 14, Chinese Whispers; March 21, Deep Water; March 28, Cometh the Hour.
MARCH 13, 20, & 27: The Great Lakes Nautical Society will host model ship building classes from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on each date at the Maritime Center for children 12 and under. Class size is limited to 40. Therefore, pre-registration is recommended. For more information, call the Maritime Center at 810-985-4817.
APRIL 3: A memorial service, at 1 p.m. in the Maritime Center, will rememeber crewmen who have died at sea, particularly those on the Great Lakes. Crewmen starting their 2010 shipping season also will be recognized. The event includes music, prayers, and speakers from maritime organizations.
