Events & Information...

THE GREAT LAKES MARITIME CENTER at Vantage Point continues to be a favorite spot for area residents and visitors alike.  They spend time watching freighters, enjoying a cup of coffee, or just relaxing without a care in the world.  In 2017 (and we didn't open until March 13), we've had 144,497 visitors at the Center. In all of 2016, we had 153,589 visitors.

BELL OF RECOGNITION:  Many have asked how they can contribute to the Great Lakes Maritime Center (51 Water Street) for themselves, in memory of someone, or as a gift to someone still enjoying the Center. We are pleased to bring to your attention the Bell of Recognition now hanging in the Maritime Center. Near it is a plaque with contributors; names. Donations are used for artifacts, books, and other treasures enjoyed at the Center. If you would like to make a contribution to the Bell of Recognition, talk to a volunteer

The Great Lakes Maritime Center, 51 Water Street, is closed for the winter. We will reopen on March 12. Make sure to come back and see us in the Spring.

APRIL 7 (Saturday): The Blessing of the Fleet will be held at 1 p.m. outside the Great Lakes Maritime Center, 51 Water Street in downtown Port Huron. The event marks the 2018 shipping season and remembers those sailors lost at sea. If bad weather prevails, the ceremony will be held inside.

APRIL 28 (Saturday): Roger LeLievre, author of "Know  Your Ships," will visit the Great lakes Maritime Center (51 Water Street) from noon to 4 sell and sign the 2018 edition. "Know Your Ships" is a must have for boat watchers - young and old alike!
